Threat level to Sweden unchanged

2011-07-23 |
The threat level to Sweden has remained unchanged since 1 October 2010, when it was raised by one step, from low to elevated.
The Security Service is closely monitoring the developments in Norway following the terrorist attack in and around Oslo on 22 July. In consultation with the Stockholm City Police, it was decided to intensify the police presence at the Government Offices and at the Norwegian Embassy. The Security Service has also taken several other measures, as well as offering our assistance to the Norwegian Police Security Service (PST).

The threat level to Sweden has remained unchanged since 1 October 2010, when it was raised by one step, from low to elevated. New threat assessments are produced on a regular basis, and may lead to changes in the threat level. The National Centre for Terrorist Threat Assessment (NCT) is responsible for assessing threats to Sweden and Swedish interests abroad. Their assessments rest both on what is known today and what can be said about possible future developments.
